近寂靜者，依心堪能奢摩他故，觀擇真義發起慧學。
Thoroughly pacified refers to having accomplished the training of wisdom. This is done by specifically analyzing the meaning of reality in dependence on meditative serenity, wherein the mind becomes serviceable.

近寂靜者Thoroughly pacified
依心堪能in dependence on依靠這樣的條件所以能得到
奢摩他meditative serenity
觀擇真義analyzing the meaning of reality
依心堪能奢摩他故，觀擇真義藉由(in dependence on)禪定(meditative serenity)的狀態，以致於能夠分析(analyzing)現實狀況(reality)的意涵(the meaning of)
發起having accomplished
慧學the training of wisdom
最後再加上the mind becomes serviceable心智能發揮作用，因此最後得到the training of wisdom智慧

附加的註釋，為何「近寂靜」要翻譯成Thoroughly pacified，字面上是「完全地平靜」，而不是「靠近」
中文的「近寂靜」講得很像是「幾乎寂靜」，其實是已經徹底達到寂靜以後，很快就會升起，因為兩者發生的時間很近，所以才這樣寫，有先後順序的不同

我在前文的註釋有寫：近靜thoroughly pacified，所謂pacific就是很像水面平靜無浪一樣，而佛教中水常常跟心識做連結，pacified就受到影響而變得平靜。Thoroughly就是「徹底的」，也就是說「近靜」並非「快要達到平靜」，而是「達到徹底平靜以後很快會生起的觀察慧」
