若念僅具二德足耶，縱有此二，若如畫中聽聞法者，全無發趣，仍非其器。故須具有廣大希求。
Question: Are just these two enough? Reply: Though having both of these, if, like a drawing of a person who is listening to the teachings, you are inactive, you are not fit to listen to the teachings. Therefore, you must have great diligence.
問：只具備兩種德相是不是就足夠了呢？
答：縱使具有這兩種德相，就好像圖畫中的人物畫像在聽聞正法一樣，完全生不起趣入的心、毫無意樂，仍然不是正法的聞器。所以必須具有廣大的希求心。

• 若念 如果這樣想
• 僅具二德足耶 Are just these two enough? 只具備兩種德相是不是就足夠了呢？（此二德係指「正住、具慧」）
• 縱有此二 Though having both of these縱使具有這兩種德相。
• 若如畫中聽聞法者 like a drawing of a person who is listening to the teachings就好像圖畫中的人物畫像在聽聞正法一樣
• 全無發趣 you are inactive完全生不起趣入的心；毫無意樂
• 仍非其器 you are not fit to listen to the teachings仍然不是正法的聞器
• 故須 Therefore 所以
• 具有廣大希求 you must have great diligence必須具有廣大的希求心
