《華嚴經》說，以九種心，親近承事諸善知識，能攝一切親近意樂所有扼要。即彼九心攝之為四。
The《Array of Stalks Sūtra》 states that you should respect and serve the teacher with nine attitudes. This includes the key points of all the attitudes that you should have in order to rely on the teacher. If these are further condensed, four attitudes remain. They are as follows:
宗大師開示修行者，親近承事善知識應依《華嚴經》所說九種心發心，即能統攝親近善知識的所有要領。這九種心還可以歸納成四大類。
- 《華嚴經》說，The《Array of Stalks Sūtra》 states
- 以九種心with nine attitudes 要以九種心親近承事每一位善知識
- 親近承事諸善知識you should respect and serve the teacher 來親近、恭敬、承事善知識
- 能攝This includes 能夠總攝
- 一切親近意樂all the attitudes that you should have in order to rely on the teacher 親近承事善知識相關的
- 所有扼要the key points of所有要領
- 即彼九心攝之為四。If these are further condensed, four attitudes remain. 如果這九心要歸類的話，可分成四大類
