棄自自在，捨於尊重令自在者，如孝子心。謂如孝子自於所作，不自在轉，觀父容顏，隨父自在，依教而行。如是亦應觀善知識容顏而行。
1) The attitude which is like the dutiful child. This means to give up your independence and submit to the guru's will. Dutiful children do not initiate an action on their own, but instead, looking at their parents' facial expressions, submit to their will and then do what they say. Look to the teacher in this way.
捨棄自主、順從上師：如孝子之心，如同孝子行事不會自作主張，而是看父親的臉色、順從父親的心意、遵循吩咐行事。同樣地，應該視善知識的容顏而行事

• 棄自自在 give up your independence 捨棄依照自己的想法做事情
• 捨於尊重令自在者submit to the guru's will 依照善知識的想法去行事
• 如孝子心 The attitude which is like the dutiful child. 就很像孝子一樣的心態
• 謂如孝子自於所作，不自在轉 Dutiful children do not initiate an action on their own 孝子行事不會自作主張
• 觀父容顏 looking at their parents' facial expressions 觀察父親的臉色
• 隨父自在 submit to their will 順從父親的心意
• 依教而行 do what they say 遵循父親的教誨來行事
• 如是亦應觀善知識容顏而行 Look to the teacher in this way. 同樣的，也應該好好觀察善知識的容顏來行事
